The Unified program is part of the Special Olympics Vision of a Unified Generation where kids with and without intellectual disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in the All-City League. Participants include anyone who has been identified as having an intellectual disability or closely related developmental disability by an Agency or professional. They are age 6 or older and train and compete in a Unified event as an athlete from their respective team. Unified team members may also have mobility limitations that don’t allow them to participate in their respective age groups.
A 25-meter freestyle race, a 25-meter backstroke race, and a 50-meter freestyle race will be held during the meet on Saturday morning. We highly encourage spectators to fill the stands and cheer these swimmers on!
For the first time ever at All City, these events will be scored and records will be kept.
