About the All-City Fund & Food Drive
Each year, the Madison area swim & dive teams compete to raise the most meals per swimmer and diver to benefit hunger relief through activities including penny wars and themed food drives. Once again, they’ll be working together as a league to support the community and reach a goal of $55,000 worth of meals! Since 2008, the league has provided more than 2 million meals through fundraising, food donations, and volunteer hours.
Anyone can make an online donation on behalf of their pool. For more information and to donate to your pool’s virtual food drive, visit the Second Harvest All-City Swim Meet Page.
About Second Harvest
Our work at Second Harvest brings food to our shared community. It is through partnerships and collaborations that we are able to meet the nutritional needs of our neighbors facing hunger. Additionally, as part of the food system, we are able to reduce waste by connecting with food-related businesses and farmers. Our work includes food acquisition and storage, food distribution, and FoodShare outreach, a debit-like card that provides funds for community members at most grocers and farmer’s markets.
At the Meet
In addition to fundraising efforts throughout the summer, swimmers and families can continue to support Second Harvest at the All City Meet. Each pool has contributed a themed basket that will be raffled off on Championship Saturday. Raffle tickets will be sold all day Thursday and Friday, as well as Saturday morning. Food, cash, and online donations will continue to be accepted until the end of the day on Saturday.
